I keep reading that Riggs wants the ambulance bidding process thrown out.
Why bother? The Board of Supervisors just needs to vote to give the contract to Riggs. That is who the board really wants to have it anyway -- this whole bidding process was just a charade to give the appearance of impartiality.
They tried slipping in additional points to Riggs' score after the points had already been tallied, which was later determined illegal by the state. Now they are trying to come up with some trumped-up reason not to award to AMR, the winning bidder. No one will be surprised if the board just gives it to their political buddy, Riggs; that is how things run in this county, forever the good ol' boy way of politics. Stop the charades Supervisors, let successful companies know that we like our unemployment high, and do not care to have well established companies do business here.
