I have been reading a lot about the battle between AMR and Riggs Ambulance. One issue that really upsets me is the frequency upon which Riggs pulls our ambulances out of Stanislaus to serve Merced County, upwards of 14 times a month. I don't care who wins the contract, but Merced needs to stop mooching off its neighbors. You don't get to contract with the cheaper company and then hide the upcharges by making neighboring counties subsidize your system.
