The Merced College Art Gallery will feature Rebecca Fogg with a reception Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at 3600 M St. The title of the exhibit is "Plenty of Ocean" and it will be at the gallery through Feb. 7. Communication will be focus of workshops

Merced College and the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce will offer professional development workshops on communication in the workplace from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Jan. 31 at 630 W. 19th St. Cost is $23. Merced County National Alliance on Mental Illness holds biweekly support groups for families affected by serious mental illness. Call (209) 381-6844; a volunteer will return the call within 48 hours.
