Sunny, warm days are predicted for the week in the Sacramento region.

Not even a slight chance of rain is forecast for the next 7 days. January is likely to end decidedly dry.

By Wednesday, the National Weather Service predicts that the mercury could rise to 63 degrees, which is seven degrees warmer than normal for late January.

The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. Light and variable wind becoming north northwest 8 to 13 mph in the morning.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. North northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 59. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. Light north northwest wind.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 63. Calm wind.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 39.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 63.

Thursday night: Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 40.

Friday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 62.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41.
