NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that his city is pushing back many Mardi Gras events to next week so they won't clash with the Super Bowl and further stress an already thin police force. That's a good idea. Name another city where the Super Bowl would receive second billing.
As for me and I don't care that it's not a realistic wish I'd hold the NCAA Final Four and the Super Bowl in New Orleans every year. The city is a living, breathing party 24-7, and not even Hurricane Katrina could bust its mojo.
The Super Bowl host committee treated the media to a party Tuesday night that featured live music, stilted dancers, vendors from 40 restaurants and even Mardi Gras floats. I just hope I'm not cursed by trying the Voodoo Shrimp.
