MERCED -- No one was hurt during an armed robbery earlier this week at the MetroPCS store at 1105 W. Main St., police reported Thursday.
The incident was reported at 6:36 p.m. Wednesday after the robber, armed with a knife, entered the store and demanded money from the clerk, according to police Lt. Bimley West.
The clerk handed over cash to the robber, who fled on foot and was last seen running northbound on R Street.
The suspect is described as a Latino male adult in his mid-20s, about 5-foot-8 and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a white Nike sweatshirt over several layers of clothing, along with dark pants. He also had a dark hood on his head, West said.
