We all feel the heartbreak every time the news reporters talk about yet another shooting incident. It is good to see the concern of our country's leaders.
I wonder, though, how anyone can overlook the fact that these crimes deserve severe punishment. I have heard talk about gun control, mental health and background checks. What about the consequences of committing a crime against unsuspecting defenseless victims?
Many times, these individuals commit suicide immediately following the shooting spree. I suppose this is done to avoid punishment. I think it is imperative that we stop blaming mental health issues, a bad childhood, or bullying.
