Robert J. Flint: Attack Jesus, not the church

The cartoon printed in the Feb. 13 issue is not only inaccurate but shows a very bigoted, biased and ignorant viewpoint toward the Catholic Church.

To wit: The Church has never "updated" its so-called views concerning female priests, contraception or homosexuality.

The Catholic Church in and of itself is only a mirror of the precepts as set forth by the Lord Christ himself and has held those divine precepts unerringly since the Lord established his church on the shoulders of St. Peter over 2,000 years ago.

To attack the church on any of these or any other issues would be tantamount to suing an assemblyline worker for a policy enacted in the corporate board room.

If you want action, go to the top. If you have a problem with any of this, take it up with the Lord Christ, not his church.

The Holy Catholic Church is not now, nor has it ever been, in the business of social experimentation. Learn it, live it, love it.
