Jobs of the future will get the spotlight Tuesday as Merced High School holds a Career Technical Education Fair.

The West Olive Avenue school's quad and cafeteria will feature displays at 12:15 p.m. and lunch at 1, cooked by Culinary Cafe students.

Dina Faretta, career and technical education coordinator for the Merced Union High School District, said the fair will showcase what classes are available for students. Sixty community and educational leaders have been invited.

Faretta said tables will be decorated by Atwater High School's floral design students, centered around pictures of students participating in career classes. Career and technical education students and teachers will join the lunch and share success stories.

The district offers 11 courses in 16 industry sectors, with several classes integrated with Merced College, where college credit is offered, Faretta said.
