The Merced College Art Gallery will present an exhibition of sculptural mixed media by Marie Bergstedt and Roz Ritter titled "Relativism," from Tuesday through March 14 with a reception at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the theater building at Merced College. Call (209) 384-4117.

High school oratory contest to be held

The United for Life Oratory Contest will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Merced Civic Center in the Sam Pipes Room. This is open to all Merced County high school students and monetary prizes will be awarded. Call (209) 383-0407 for an application.

Learn to backpack the John Muir Trail

The Sierra Club will present Robin and Bill Center at 7 p.m. Thursday at Merced United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Park Way. They will discuss backpacking the John Muir Trail, 210 miles in 18 days. Call (209) 723-4747.

Parkinson's support group meeting slated

All are invited to attend a Parkinson's support group meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday at 1450 E. 27th St. The speaker will be Isabel Nuno, outreach coordinator for the state Department of Aging's Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program. Call (209) 384-3300.

'Kaleidoscope' coming to Merced College

Merced Dance Teachers Cooperative and Merced College will present "Kaleidoscope" at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the college's theater. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors and children under 12. Proceeds will benefit the group's scholarship fund. Call (209) 384-6224.

Brotherhood Program to be held at church
