I'm writing to express appreciation to photographer Bea Ahbeck Casson for her many fine photos which have enlivened your pages since she joined your staff. What prompts me to write now are a pair of her pictures in the sports section on Feb. 20. The one of the baseball players hurrying to cover home plate made me feel the action better than if I were there, and I didn't get rained on! (Page D-3). The other was of Brandy Coward trying for two points for Buhach Colony on Feb. 19. (Page D-1).
Basketball players move so quickly that stopping action is a huge challenge. You can't say, "Just a moment while I compose this exposure." You need a lot of skill and a little luck. Thank you, Bea.
