NAACP scheduled to hold installation of new officers

MERCED -- The Merced County NAACP, Branch 1047, will hold its 2013-14 installation of officers at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Merced council chambers at City Hall.

The Rev. Ceasar Johnson, youth pastor of the Christian Life Center, will be installing the officers: President Loretta Spence, Vice President Kelly Phillips, Treasurer James Bethune and Secretary Melina Hunter.

Executive board members will include Ronald Phillips, Sammie Carter, Leanna Rhodes, Kenneth Roberts and immediate past President Dr. Napoleon Washington Jr.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was founded by a multiethnic group of activists.
