Ryan Emeralds walk-off double lifted the Merced College baseball team to a 3-2 win over College of the Seqouias on Thursday afternoon at Blue Devil Diamond.
Emerald delivered the game-winning hit with two outs to drive in pinch-runner Craig Lefebv.
Blue Devils starter Russell Longworth pitched well, giving up just one run on three hits in seven innings. Longworth struck out 10 and walked three.
Merced (6-7, 3-2 Central Valley Conference) erased a one-run deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning when Ryan Cumberland doubled in Shota Nagato and Phillip Parga.
Seqouias tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the eighth when Ross Feeley scored on a wild pitch.
Parga started the ninth-inning rally with a one-out walk. Lefebv came in as a pinch runner and advanced to second with two outs on a ground out to set the state for Emerald.

Merced 8, Ceres 1
After giving up a lead-off single to start the game, Merced freshman Madily Nickles didn't give up another hit the rest of the way as the Bears improved to 3-0.
Serina Castillo led Merced's 10-hit attack, going 3 for 3. Chelsea Evans and Ruby Quiralte each added two hits and Nickles drove in three runs.
