Around Town: Computer training classes available

The Merced County Office of Education is offering computer training classes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 632 W. 13th St. Cost is $75 per class and the deadline to register is one week prior to the start of the class. Classes include: Microsoft Word 2010 Level 3 on March 19, Adobe Illustrator CS6 Level 2 Tuesday, and Microsoft Excel 2010

College for Kids needs instructor proposals

Merced College for Kids will begin mid-June and is accepting proposals from anyone interested in teaching a class. Classes are designed for students going into the fourth through eighth grades. Classes include performing arts, aquatics, arts, sports camps, fitness, cooking, math, science, language arts, career exploration, Spanish and more. Pedrozo campaign kickoff dinner set

There will be a Chili Verde Dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Club Mercedes, 569 W. Ninth St. It will be a campaign kickoff for City Councilman Josh Pedrozo and tickets are $10. Take-out available.

Registration continues for coed volleyball

LIVINGSTON -- The recreation department is accepting a roster for the adult coed spring softball league through 8 p.m. Friday. Packets are available at City Hall, 1416 C St., and games will be played Mondays (C Division), Thursdays (B Division) and Fridays (A Division).
