BALLICO — A 29-year-old man from Ballico died early Sunday after his truck left the road and overturned several times outside Turlock.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man, whose name has not been released, was driving south on Santa Fe Avenue near East Avenue when he allowed the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado truck he was driving to go off the east side of the road.
The crash occurred at 3:17 a.m.
The truck hit a barbed-wire fence, then overturned several times. The man, who was alone in his vehicle, was ejected onto the shoulder of the road. The truck came to rest on its wheels.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, the CHP said.
