STOCKTON -- The Atwater High baseball team continued its hot start.
Tyler Zeller took a no-hitter into the sixth inning as the Falcons defeated Stagg 5-1 on Thursday afternoon.
The recipe for Atwaters early season success has been simple.
We have no I guys, said Falcons coach Jarrod Pimentel, whose team improved to 5-1 heading into todays game at home against Sierra of Manteca. Our key has been to play good defense. Our pitchers have thrown strikes. Our big thing this year is to have a good offensive approach and weve been doing that. We have some scrappy guys.
Zeller finally surrendered a hit with two outs in the sixth inning. He pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving up just one run on three hits to pick up the victory.
