Sierra Club planning to discuss delta tunnel
The Merced Sierra Club will meet at 7 p.m. March 21 at Merced United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Park Way. The topic will be the delta tunnel plan. A documentary film, "Over Troubled Waters," examining the $23 billion tunnel plan to divert water from the delta will be shown. Call (209) 723-4747.
Food, dance and crafts at Polynesian festival
The 34th annual Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 22, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 23 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 24 at the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. There will be dance competitions, island-style food and Polynesian craft booths. Tickets in advance for adults are $15, or $17 at the door; in advance for children ages 5 to 12 are $11, or $12 at the door.
