Livingston to swear in 2 new reserve officers

LIVINGSTON -- The Police Department announced Tuesday it will be swearing in two new reserve police officers, Satveer Singh and Javier Ramirez.

The two new reserve officers will be sworn-in at 7 p.m. March 19 inside the Livingston City Council chamber.

According to Sgt. Ray Fong, reserve officers help support the department's mission by volunteering their time, adding to the number of officers on patrol.

Reserve officers assist the department with special investigations and help during events.

Police said Singh is one of the first to benefit from the department's youth and career programs.

For example, he joined the department as a police Explorer, assisting the department with many community programs, including the Bike Rodeo, Kops for Kids program, neighborhood visits and the Fourth of July celebration.
