Only 2,717 voters out of 11,645 found the time to vote on Tuesday. How sad. It cost Atwater $50,000 to hold this election and it cost $184 each for voters to cast a vote on the tax bill.
I hope the council is not appointing firemen or policemen, active or retired, to oversee these funds.
I encourage every citizen to get involved in the way our city conducts business. Let's not wait for another disaster that requires another tax increase.

Our city is not perfect but we can make it the best place to live and work and be proud, with everyone pitching in and being active in our local affairs.
