Bus trip to Black Oak

The Native Daughters of the Golden West are sponsoring a bus trip to Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne on Saturday. Tickets are $25 per person, and there will be pick-ups in Atwater and Merced. Proceeds will go to the organization's scholarship fund. Call (209) 722-0349.

Stingrays registrations

ATWATER -- The Atwater Stingrays will be taking registrations from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday and March 23 at the Save Mart in Atwater. If you are new to the team, bring your original birth certificate and a copy. Call (209) 631-5796.

Parking lot fund-raiser

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced will hold a parking lot sale fund-raiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Merced High School on Olive Drive.

Genealogical Society

The Merced County Genealogical Society will meet at noon Saturday at the library, 2100 O St. Speaker Stephen P. Morse will discuss topics ranging from problems with genealogical searches, identity theft and more. The meeting is open to the public.

Rally and egg hunt

LE GRAND -- Le Grand United Methodist Church will sponsor a Community Rally Day and Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to noon on March 23 at the church on the corner of Washington and Adams streets. Bible stories, crafts, games, an Easter egg hunt and picnic lunch. Call (209) 389-4753.

Women in politics

The League of Women Voters, Soroptimist International of Merced and National Council of Negro Women will host the Celebrating Women in Politics luncheon at noon March 28. Tickets are $23 per person and the guest speakers will be Dee Dee D'Adamo and Amy Neumann. RSVP deadline is March 21, no tickets will be sold at the door. Mental illness support

NAMI, the Merced County National Alliance on Mental Illness, holds bi-weekly support groups for families affected by serious mental illness. If you would like more information, call (209) 381-6844 and a volunteer will contact you within 48 hours.
