I feel the freeze that Sen. Anthony Cannella has introduced (Bill by Cannella would freeze tuition at colleges, March 7) sounds too good to be true. When I first read about it I thought this would be a good bill to pass, because we wouldnt have to worry about tuition increasing more each year.
Seven years sounds like a pretty good amount of time to finish up college and not have to worry about the aftermath of the "freeze." I myself am currently a Madera community college student and I know seven years is perfect for me.
Then again, I know it probably has its pros and cons. So I do agree with the students at UC Merced still having some unanswered questions about it, and the concern of what will happen after the freeze. It's hard enough struggling with tuition fees increasing over the years and the cost of books plus other expenses of everyday life. I would like to hear more about it before fully supporting it.
