Around Town: Sign-ups coming soon for Fireballs League

The Fireballs League will have sign-ups from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Me-N-Ed's Pizzeria, 3524 N. G St. The first 10 players to sign up will be sponsored by the Eagles Club of Merced. This is a coed baseball league for players 7 to 9 years old. Call (209) 626-9474.

COVE to host dog walk fund-raiser at park

COVE, Center of Vision Enhancement, will host the Paws for a Cause dog walk and run with check-in at 7 a.m. April 20 at Applegate Park and start time at 8:30 a.m. Prices range from $8 to $17 and proceeds go to the support programs and services of COVE. Last Hope Cat Kingdom seeks event volunteers

Senior Social Club meets every Friday

The Merced Breakfast Lions Club maintains a series of drop-off locations for old, unused, prescription eyeglasses or hearing aids. Drop off at the offices of Drs.
