Playhouse Merced offers sneak peek at 2013-14 season

MERCED -- Playhouse Merced's "Season Preview Party and Show" will be presented on the theater's main stage at 7:30 p.m. April 6.

At the season preview, fully rehearsed, produced and costumed musical numbers and show scenes from next season's shows will be performed, with artistic director Rob Hypes acting as master of ceremonies, according to a theater press release.

In addition, drinks, desserts and chances to win prizes will be part of the fun for those in attendance.

While shows remain in the current season, staff at Playhouse Merced have been busy planning the 2013-14 season. It will mark the 20th anniversary of Playhouse Merced in its current downtown location and feature musicals, comedies and dramas.

The season preview show will begin with pre-show drinks from an open bar, with a chance to win prizes such as an iPad mini. Desserts and coffee will be available at intermission, the release said.

Doors for the event open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $30 per person and include pre-show libations and dessert served at intermission.
