Country music star Dave Stamey to perform at Merced Theatre

— Country music performer Dave Stamey and special guest Pat Richardson are scheduled to take the stage 8 p.m. Saturday night at the Merced Theatre.

Tickets for the show are $20-$25.

Stamey was named the Western Music Association's Songwriter, Male Performer and Entertainer of the Year for 2012, according to the Merced Theatre's website.

In addition, Cowboys and Indians Magazine also called him "the Charlie Russell of Western Music." Western Horseman Magazine called his "Vaquero Song" one of the greatest Western songs of all time. And in 2010, True West Magazine named him Best Living Western Solo Musician, according to the theatre's website.

He has been voted three times Entertainer of the Year, three times Male Performer of the Year and twice Songwriter of the Year by the Western Music Association. he has received the Will Rogers Award from the Academy of Western Artists.
