AARP program to help with filing tax returns

The AARP TaxAide Program will begin preparing tax returns for all ages with middle to low incomes. Extra assistance will be provided for those who are 60 and older, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St. All volunteers are trained and certified with IRS material. Good Friday service at Valley Baptist

Valley Baptist Church will have its Good Friday communion service at 7 p.m. today with Deacon Leonardo Tacata at the church, 3312 G St. Everyone is invited to a free Easter brunch at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Kiwanis to have Easter egg hunt at Kiddieland

The 24th annual Kiwanis Kiddieland Easter Egg Hunt will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kiddieland. The Kiddieland Park rides will open at 11. Call (209) 769-9505.

Club Mercedes to hold Good Friday dinner

Club Mercedes will hold its annual Good Friday dinner from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the club, Ninth and M streets. The beverage lounge will open at 4 p.m. Dinner tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children. The meal includes two chile rellenos, beans, rice and tortillas. No early birds, please. Bible Baptist Church to have Easter service

Bible Baptist Church will have a special Easter Sunday, or Resurrection Sunday, service at 10 a.m. A barbecue dinner will be held after the service at 3840 N. Santa Fe Drive. Call (209) 358-3595.

Good Friday service at Atwater Baptist Church

ATWATER -- Atwater Baptist Church will hold a community-wide Good Friday service at 7 p.m. at the church, 2124 First St. New Life Community Church, Evergreen Christian Center, Atwater Methodist Church, Atwater First Church of God and Atwater Baptist Church invite the community to attend.
