Ralph Morris: A mockery of equal protection

March 29, 2013

Should the U.S. Supreme Court not reverse the Defense of Marriage Act and California's Proposition 8, thereby recognizing the legitimacy of same-sex marriage, it will have mocked the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. I am reminded of the brilliant words of Martin Luther King, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." In that spirit, I would respectfully submit, "injustice to anyone is injustice to everyone."
