— Police are looking for three people believed to have been involved in a gang-related shooting Friday.

The Los Banos Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Pacheco Boulevard at 8:07 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived on the scene and found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Witnesses reported seeing two Latino males and one Latino female leaving the area in a gold sedan, police said. Police said officers found the vehicle abandoned a few blocks away from where the victim was shot.

No further description of the three people was provided by police.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a Modesto-area hospital where he remains in stable condition. Law enforcement said the incident occurred because of a disagreement.

"We believe this incident was gang-related and began after a verbal argument between the suspects and the victim," Cmdr. Ray Reyna Jr. said. "There were several citizens in the area, but thankfully none of them were injured."

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact Detective Justin Melden at (209) 827-7070, ext. 114. To leave an anonymous crime tip, call (209) 827-7070, ext. 288.
