The Merced County Fair is right around the corner, and officials are bringing back a popular deal -- buy four general admission tickets, get the fifth one free.
The deal saves fairgoers about $5 and the pack of five tickets can be used in any combination, one at a time or all at once, organizers said.
The advance sale discount ticket offers were a big hit with fairgoers last year, Chief Executive Officer Tom Musser said, adding, "We're making fun more affordable for more families."
No coupons are needed, as long as the tickets are purchased by June 11, the day before the fair starts.
Outdoor Theatre entertainment will continue to be included in the general admission ticket price. Each night, a headline entertainment act will perform in the fairgrounds' theater.
Buying all-day-ride carnival discount coupons in advance also will save fairgoers some money. Buying the coupon now costs $23, compared with $30 during the fair.
The coupons can be exchanged for an unlimited-ride wrist wrap for one day of unlimited rides, they said.
Butler Amusements Inc., the largest carnival company in the western United States, will return to the Merced County Fair this year, according to organizers.
The theme of the 122nd annual fair, which runs June 12-16, is "Thank You Veterans."
The buy four, get one free general admission tickets and all-day-ride carnival discount coupons are available at www.mercedcountyfair.com and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Merced County Fairgrounds office, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
