Immigrants have always helped America. They built our railroads, sewed our clothes, and picked our crops.
But for too long, they have been forgotten or walked over. Employers didn't pay them a decent wage, and they had no protection if they were injured on the job.
It doesn't have to be this way. We can improve the quality of life for these 11 million people by creating a road map to citizenship. That means they will be treated with dignity, and not kicked to the curb like a piece of trash.
We need Congress to stand up and do what's right. That's why I ask Rep. Jim Costa to support common sense immigration reform legislation, and help make our economy stronger.
