Around Town: Sons of Thunder's motorcycle blessing

The Sons of Thunder will hold its 10th annual Bike Blessing with sign-in at 8:30 a.m. April 20, at the Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave., with coffee and donuts. The blessing will start at 10 a.m., then riders will putt through the foothills to a barbecue at Henderson Park before traveling on to Snelling for live music by the Rhema Blues Band. Baseball fund-raiser

ATWATER -- The Traveling 10U Baseball Team will host a large rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the Buhach Colony High School parking lot. Proceeds will send the team to a tournament in Southern California. Call (209) 777-9918.

The Advisory Board on Alcohol and Other Drug Problems will meet at 5:30 p.m. April 16 at 1137 B St.

COVE holds walk/run

COVE, the Center of Vision Enhancement, will host the Paws for a Cause Dog Walk and Run with check-in at 7 a.m. April 20 at Applegate Park. Start time is 8:30 a.m. There will be a 2-mile/5-mile walk and run with or without a dog. Entry fees range from $8 to $17, and proceeds go to support programs and services of COVE. Relay for Life rally

ATWATER -- There will be a community rally for the upcoming season of Relay For Life at 6 p.m. April 23 at the Castle Family Health Center. For more information, call (209) 777-2013.

Golf class for all ages

Merced College Community Services will offer a class, Golf for All Ages, starting April 27 through May 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays. Call (209) 384-6224.

Grad night help needed

Golden Valley High School will hold its Sober Grad Night on June 6 for the seniors. It takes about 200 volunteers to put on this event. If you would like to help keep kids safe on graduation night, call (209) 354-0403 or email tiggermanna@yahoo.com.

Mental illness support

The Merced County National Alliance on Mental Illness holds biweekly support groups for families affected by serious mental illness. For more information, call (209) 381-6844 and a volunteer will contact you within 48 hours.
