Merced County Fair organizers are pushing forward not only with arranging this year's events and attractions, but also with a website redesign.
While the fair's website address -- www.mercedcountyfair.com -- is the same, the site's format and appearance have changed.
The new website offers a cleaner and more attractive look, according to a news release from Diane Conway, the fair's marketing manager. The site still offers the same information, but with more organization from drop-down menus. It's also easier to navigate on smart phones or tablets.
Details about discount fair admission tickets, forms, carnival coupons and entering exhibits are on the site. This year's fair runs June 12-16.
As more pieces of the fair start coming together, an important deadline is approaching, Conway noted.
The deadline for independent junior exhibitors planning to enter goats, sheep or swine at the 2013 Merced County Fair is April 15.
Independent junior exhibitors must give fair management a copy of their birth certificate or driver's license as proof of age by 5 p.m. April 15.
All independent junior exhibitors who want to exhibit market sheep, goats, or swine at the fair must be at least 9 years old or in the fourth grade by Jan. 1. Exhibitors are eligible to compete through Dec. 31 of the year when they turn 19 years old, according to state requirements.
All the required information must be submitted to the fair office at 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Merced, according to Conway. For more information, call (209) 722-1507, fax (209) 722-3773, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.mercedcountyfair.com.
