LOS BANOS -- The Los Banos Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to a party.
The 2013 Spring Downtown Street Faire, set for April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., will bring knickknacks, food and entertainment to Sixth Street.
The chamber expects more than 100 vendors selling everything from purses and jewelry to toys and sunglasses in what has become a Los Banos tradition.
"It gives people a chance to come and see people they haven't seen in a long time, buy from the vendors and check out the shops we have downtown," said John Whala, executive director of the chamber, of the fair's popularity.
The street fair attracts 2,000 to 3,000 people to the downtown area.
This year, Whala said Zippy Pals, battery-operated animal rides, will be among the attractions. The fair also will feature dance demonstrations from local studios.
There will be plenty of shopping. Whala said the number of vendors, which has hit triple digits, may increase within the next two weeks because space for selling nonfood items is still available.
The Rod Runners will hold a car show along J Street, he said.
"We have a lot of returning vendors and new ones," Whala said, adding that he doesn't want to single anyone out.
The Spring Downtown Street Faire includes the Los Banos Rotary Club's pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.
Breakfast tickets are $6 and are available at the door or by calling the chamber at (209) 826-2495.
