Around Town: Camp fund-raiser

The Peggy Heller School's sixth-grade class will host a fund-raiser from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. today in the parking lot, 201 Lakeview Drive. Cost will be $10 per plate and includes pulled pork on a hoagie roll, beans and coleslaw.

Annual enchilada sale

The Club Mercedes will host its annual Enchilada Sale from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the club on the corner of Ninth and M streets. Ground beef enchiladas are $13 for a dozen. Beans and rice will be available for an extra $5 per container. Take-out orders only. Sales will be limited so advance tickets are requested. Call (209) 383-9906. Proceeds to benefit Merced Youth Baseball and the club's College Endowment Fund.

Church blood drive

Yosemite Church of Merced will hold a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday at 2230 E. Yosemite Ave. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water prior to giving blood. Give a pint and receive a free T-shirt. Call (209) 631-5528.

Multiple sclerosis

HORNITOS -- The Multiple Sclerosis Society will hold its 10-mile bike ride, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at the corner of Indian Gulch Road and Highway 140 in Catheys Valley. The ride starts at 10 a.m. and ends in Hornitos Park with a barbecue and awards. All proceeds will go to the MS Society. Call (209) 376-2320.

Fill the Boot in Merced

The Merced City Fire Fill The Boot will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the corner of Olive Avenue and G Street. All donations go to MDA. If you miss the firefighters at the intersection, you can donate by going to mercedcityftb. For more information, call (559) 453-9822.

Mental illness help

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, will host the sixth in a series of programs dedicated to helping people get the assistance they need from the mental health care system. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 480 E. 13th St. Call (209) 381-6844.

Civil liberties exhibit

The Merced County Courthouse Museum will present the "Wherever There's A Fight: A History of Civil Liberties in California" exhibit starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday. It will run through June 16. Call (209) 723-2401 or go to or mercedmuseum.
