College offers golfing for all ages classes

Merced College Community Services will offer golf for all ages classes, starting Saturday and continuing through May 18. Classes are held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays. Call (209) 384-6224 for more information.

Merced High welcomes the class of 2017

Merced High School will host a barbecue to welcome the Class of 2017 students from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on May 1 in the quad-cafeteria area, 205 W. Olive Ave. Students will be able sign up for clubs, meet the staff, interact with Link Crew students and more. Call (209) 385-6465 for more information.

MOPS Group to host the Me Project

A local moms' group, MOPS, will host the Me Project from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on May 2 at Yosemite Church, 2230 E. Yosemite Ave. The speaker will be Kathi Lipp. There will be dessert, coffee and more on tap, with a healthy dose of laughter. Church women's group hosts lunch potluck

A Church Women United potluck luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on May 3 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1455 E. Yosemite Ave. Bring a dish to share. Merced SPCA 17th annual dog walk

The Merced SPCA will host its 17th annual dog walk fund-raiser at 9 a.m. on May 4 starting at the Applegate Zoo entrance. Prizes will be presented and walkers will receive a complimentary photo with their dog. Call (209) 658-3637 or (209) 384-7722 for more information.
