Merced Gardens show

Merced Gardens and Nursery will present "The More You Know: The More You Grow" at 11 a.m. today as part of the UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners program on Highway 59 in the outside tent. Refreshments will be served. For more, call (209) 384-0513.

Lions Club yard sale

LIVINGSTON — The Livingston Lions Club will hold its annual yard sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 in the Livingston City Hall parking lot, 1416 C St. The Fire Department will hold a breakfast fund- raiser at the same time.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary

ATWATER — The Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold its monthly breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. May 5 at 1390 Broadway. Tickets are $3 to $6. The meal includes waffles with strawberries and cream or biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs cooked to order, bacon, hash browns, juice and coffee. Proceeds benefit veterans programs.

Cheerleading tryouts

ATWATER — Buhach Colony High School will hold a cheerleading tryout meeting at 6 p.m. May 8 in the school cafeteria. Tryout clinics will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. May 13-16 in the school gym; tryouts will be at 4 p.m. May 17. Call (209) 357-6608 or email

Club Mercedes menudo

Club Mercedes will serve menudo on the last Sunday of each month until the NFL season starts. They will serve from 8 a.m. to noon or until the menudo runs out.
