Police were on the lookout Friday for three men in connection with a convenience store robbery that occurred Thursday night in south Merced.

The incident was reported just before 8 p.m. at Jesse's Market in the 100 block of East 13th Street, according to Sgt. Rodney Court.

The clerk was alone in the store when two men dressed in black and wearing ski masks entered the store with handguns, Court said. One robber put a gun to the clerk's head, while the other pistol-whipped him.

The robbers demanded the victim open the cash register, according to Court. Once they emptied the cash register, the two robbers fled on foot eastbound on 13th Street.

A third robber, wearing black, entered the store without a gun and grabbed several cartons of cigarettes, Court said. He fled in the same direction.

The clerk reportedly sustained only minor injuries.

The only description the clerk was able to provide police was that all three robbers were males with thin builds dressed entirely in black.
