OK, we have the crime, the gangs, the homeless, and these, without a doubt, are major issues. But this morning I want to bring up a subject that seems to have been lost in this wonderful little city of ours: Noise, the trains specifically.
I might be a little touchy on this issue considering I relocated back here after all these years, but is it necessary to blow these horns constantly hour on the hour day-in and day-out on their way through the city?
I would never want safety to be compromised, but I believe there are limits and regulations as to how long, how many times and exactly what intersections require warnings as trains are approaching. We cannot do anything about the sirens from our police, etc., but we can curtail other noise pollution. And this, in my opinion, is way out of hand. I am curious as to what other residents think.
