Buhach Colony High to hold an activity-filled open house

— It's like an open house, only better.

That's the way Elizabeth Phonesavanh, Buhach Colony High School activities director, describes tonight's Thunder Fair in the campus amphitheater.

The Thunder Fair allows next year's freshmen, current students and their parents to enjoy a night during which clubs, activities, sports and classes are highlighted, Phonesavanh said.

Steve Hobbs, the school's associate principal for guidance, said the Thunder Fair is an opportunity for staff members to show off what they are doing.

"It's a celebration of what we do here," he said. "We get a good crowd here; it's a nice atmosphere." Information about academics, athletics, electives, clubs and activities will be provided.

Incoming ninth-graders can pick up their schedules for next fall at the Thunder Fair. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Buhach Road school.

"Please join us for an evening packed full of fun, food and great information about Buhach Colony High School," Phonesavanh said. The school's clothing, called ThunderWear, will be for sale.
