Brad Howard: Don't let this murder case go cold

June 15, 2013

Early Sunday morning, on June 22, 1986, a cold- blooded and evil coward murdered my brother and closest friend, Stan Howard, while he was sleeping in his bed. Twenty-seven years have passed and the murder is still unsolved. There has been no justice for the many victims who loved Stan and knew him as a kind, hard-working and generous man. We all hope for closure someday soon. I pray that someone will have the courage to come forward with information that will bring justice and ease the suffering of the heartbroken victims. I can see no reason why anyone would want to protect a cowardly killer and keep innocent people suffering. In closing, I would ask the Merced County Sheriff's Department to continue to investigate this case and all other cold cases in Merced County. Also, I ask that all citizens support our law enforcement agencies as they do the difficult job of investigating heinous crimes such as this. Everyone deserves justice, however long it takes.
