Around Town: SPCA adoption event

ATWATER — The Merced SPCA will hold its monthly adoption event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Armstrong's Pet World, 1814 Bellevue Road. Call (209) 384-7722 or (209) 723-8953.

Market on Tuesdays

LE GRAND — The Le Grand Farmers Market will be on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., through Sept. 17, with entertainment from 8 to 9 p.m.

Keen-Agers Luncheon

ATWATER — Bernadette Mello will be the speaker at the Keen-Agers Luncheon at noon on Wednesday at the Atwater Baptist Church, 2124 First St. There will be a potluck and the event is open to the public.

Sweet potato festival

LIVINGSTON — The second annual Sweet Potato Festival will be held on Sept. 20 at the Livingston Sports Complex. Sponsorships are $25 and the deadline is Aug. 9. For more information, go to or call (209) 394-8830.

Breakfast in Snelling

SNELLING — Breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. on June 23 at the IOOF Hall. Tickets are $5. The meal includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs cooked to order, coffee and juice.

June Sunday Social

Dance to the music of We Three from 2 to 5 p.m. on June 23 at the Merced Senior Center, 755 W. 15 St. Tickets are $8. Call (209) 723-0839.

Holy Spirit Celebration

ATWATER — The Atwater Holy Spirit Celebration will be from June 23-30 at the Atwater Pentecost Hall, 1420 Third St. There will be the traditional Portuguese Holy Spirit Celebration Parade, food and much more. For more information, call (209) 722-4783.
