DOS PALOS — Dos Palos police made two arrests related to a shooting Tuesday.

Chief Barry Mann said police issued a search warrant in the 8800 block of Globe Avenue around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

“I believe we’ve identified the vehicle and we did locate a firearm,” Mann said.

Police arrested 20-year-old Ricardo Gonzalez of Dos Palos and a Dos Palos 15-year-old male on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and participation in a criminal street gang.

The 15-year-old was taken to Merced County Juvenile Hall and is held without bail.

Gonzalez is being held in lieu of $350,000 bail.

Police said the two victims in the shooting, both men in their 20s, were dropped off in the 2100 block of Valeria Street

Tuesday, and later flown to Modesto-area hospitals.

One victim has since been released and the other remains in critical condition, Mann said.

Police believe the shooting occurred nearby, and the victims were suffering from gunshot wounds when they were dropped off.

The shooting remains under investigation, Mann said, but is believed to be gang-related.
