Youth summer camp at Boys and Girls Club

The Boys and Girls Club of Merced County will hold a summer camp for kids who are in first through eighth grades. The summer camp sessions happen Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or noon to 5:30 p.m. for $40 per week. Longer sessions happen from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and cost $75 per week. City offers water safety, swim lessons for $10

Merced Parks and Recreation is offering a water safety and swim lessons from 4 to 7 p.m. July 8 to 18 and July 22 to Aug. 1 at the Merced High pool, 205 W. Olive Ave. The Swim 4 Jaylin Scholarship Fund through United Way and First 5 of Merced County is offering the classes for $10 per session. Hawaiian Hula Hale workshop scheduled

South Pacific Dance Company will hold the Hawaiian Hula Hale Workshop for children ages 8 to 12 years at 10 a.m. on July 9-11 at 2400 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Call (209) 726-1925 for more information.

Happy Trails Social Group to tour plant

ATWATER — The Happy Trails Social Group at Atwater Baptist Church will visit the Classic Vinegar plant in Ceres at 9:30 a.m. July 11. Yosemite Kennel Club dog obedience class

The Yosemite Kennel Club will hold dog obedience classes starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Applegate Park. Classes are open to all breeds and mixed breeds. Cost is $50-$75 for rescue dogs. Call (209) 631-0484.

VFW Post breakfast on Fourth of July

ATWATER — Atwater Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9946 will celebrate America's birthday by serving breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. on July 4 at the VFW Hall, 1390 Broadway. Tickets are $5 and include biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and bacon. The Atwater Fourth of July parade will start at 9 a.m.

Merced Flea Market held every Saturday

The Merced Flea and Farmers Market happens every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the fairgrounds, 900 G St. EBT is accepted.
