Around Town: Try a BMX Ride Night

ATWATER — Free BMX Ride Nights run through October from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month at Veterans Park. Ages 6 to 17 are invited. Bikes and helmets are available at no charge.

The Merced Community College Services will have the following classes:

Aikido, Tuesday and Thursday, July 2 through Aug. 29, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., $65/person.

Fitness Boot Camp, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, July 1 through Aug. 30, 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., $65 per person.

Fitness Boot Camp, Tuesday and Thursday, July 2 through Aug. 29, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., $55 per person.

Lap Swim, Monday through Friday, July 1 through Aug. 30, 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 1 p.m., 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. $55 per person.

Zumba, Monday and Wednesday, July 1 through Aug. 28, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., $65 per person.

Belly Dance Fitness, Tuesday and Thursday, July 9 through Aug. 29,7 p.m. to 8 p.m., $65 per person.

Intermediate Belly Dance, Monday and Wednesday, July 8 through Aug. 28, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., $65 per person.

Baby Accessories, Tuesday, July 2 through July 30, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., $65 per person plus $25 materials fee.

Dollars for Dogs

The Merced SPCA will host its annual donation drive, Dollars For Dogs and Cats, throughout July. Donation canisters with a dollar sign will be placed at various businesses in Atwater and Merced. The Kickoff for the campaign will be at their Fourth of July booth and will include a raffle for a Kindle Fire. All proceeds benefit the pets at the Merced SPCA.
