MERCED — Merced Superior Court Judge Mark Bacciarini announced a new panel of members to serve on the 2013-2014 civil grand jury.
The civil grand jury investigates complaints regarding government agencies and issues reports on its findings. Recommendations are not binding, but government agencies must respond in writing. Members serve one-year terms, according to a court news release.
Members of the grand jury consist of 19 grand jurors and four alternates. Those selected for the 2013-14 year are:
Mary Brooks, Tracy Clarot, Albert Cardenas, Leonard Contreras, Lyle Davis, Jose Delgadillo, Katherine Graf, William Gray, Roscoe Jackson, Dennis Hanks, Robert Mathews, Al Mendoza, Gisele Nagy, John Petrone, Victor Reyes, Tim Rohrer, Michael Toste, Jim Sutherland and Madelyn Valdez.
Alternate grand jurors are: Kelly Cox, Patsy Doughty, Rick Scurich and George Souza.
The grand jury members are from the Merced County areas of Atwater, Delhi, Gustine, Los Banos and Merced.
The new jurors were sworn in by Bacciarini on Thursday at the main courthouse.
