Around Town: Farmers market on Tuesdays in Le Grand

LE GRAND — The Le Grand Farmers Market will be on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., through Sept. 17, with entertainment from 8 to 9 p.m.

Vacation Bible school at United Methodist Church

LE GRAND — Le Grand United Methodist Church welcomes all children in the community to its vacation Bible school from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through July 12 at the church at Washington and Adams streets. Call (209) 756-2815.

Area Agency on Aging seeking cell phones

The Merced County Area Agency on Aging is requesting the donation of unneeded cell phones for distribution to Merced County seniors age 60 and older. Seniors will be able to call 911 for emergency assistance only with these phones. They should have a charging unit and a battery that will hold a charge. Call (209) 385-7550.

Yoga classes offered at Merced Senior Center

Yoga classes by Joanne Rasmussen are given at the Merced Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Call (209) 385-8803.

Mental illness support

Merced County's branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness holds biweekly support groups for families affected by serious mental illness. For more information, call (209) 381-6844 and a volunteer will contact you within 48 hours.

Serving all veterans

Atwater's Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9946 has been serving the needs of veterans and their families for more than 62 years and welcomes any veteran whose service included combat or a combat operation. The post can assist veterans in receiving any benefits connected to their service at 1390 Broadway. Call (209) 358-7724.
