Around Town: Try a BMX Ride Night

ATWATER — Atwater PAL holds free BMX Ride Nights through October from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month at Veterans Park. Ages 6 to 17 are invited. Bikes and helmets are available at no charge.

PFLAG marks anniversary

PFLAG of Merced will celebrate its eighth anniversary with a barbecue and potluck at 6:30 p.m. today in Wesley Hall of the United Methodist Church of Merced, 899 Yosemite Park Way. Sabor at Club Mercedes

Club Mercedes will present the band Sabor from Fresno on July 20. Doors open at 6 p.m., music from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, with food and beverages available for an extra charge. Livingston panel vacancy

LIVINGSTON — The city of Livingston is accepting applications to fill one alternate commissioner vacancy on the Livingston Planning Commission. The term is four years or until successors are appointed. Commissioners meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The deadline to turn in an application is 5 p.m. on Aug. 9. Field of Honor

The Merced Sunrise Rotary Club will fly hundreds of U.S. flags on Veterans Day at Merced College. Volunteers are needed to put on this event. Flags will recognize individuals, veterans, active-duty military personnel and first-responders and can be purchased for $35 each.
