Weight loss support group meets on 15th

The Merced bariatric weight loss support group meets on the 15th of each month, unless it is a Saturday or Sunday. Then it meets the Friday before, at 7 p.m., 315 Mercy Ave., third floor, classroom A. Call (209) 261-6333.

Merced water safety and swim lessons

The city of Merced Parks and Recreation Department is offering water safety and swim lessons from July 22 to Aug. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Merced High School pool, 205 W. Olive Ave. The Swim 4 Jaylin Scholarship Fund through United Way and First 5 of Merced County is offering the classes for $10 per session. La Grange Odd Fellows breakfast coming up

LA GRANGE — La Grange Odd Fellows will hold its monthly breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Odd Fellows Hall on Main Street, Highway 132, east of Highway 59. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and younger. Call (209) 853-2128.

Improvement classes for mature drivers

Merced College will hold mature-driver improvement classes for residents over age 55 on July 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Merced Tri-College Center, as well as Aug. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Atwater Community Center, 760 Bellevue Road. Parkinson's support group meets next week

The Parkinson's support group will meet at 10 a.m. July 18 at 1450 E. 27th St. Pam Strange will speak on vision impairment and solutions for people with Parkinson's disease. Call (209) 384-3300 for more information or to R.S.V.P.

National Association for Uniformed Services

The NAUS, H. Wayne Hein, Chapter 18, will meet at 10 a.m. July 20 at the Atwater Veterans Building, 1390 Atwater Blvd. Laura Gordon will be the speaker. Call (209) 358-4834.

Merced farmers market open every Saturday

The Merced Flea and Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the fairgrounds, 900 G St. EBT is accepted.
