Big Rigg accident brings traffic to Halt

July 12, 2013

Authorities have blocked access to eastbound Highway 152 near Badger Flat Road for a big rig collision and fuel spill.

Preliminary California Highway Patrol reports indicate the accident occurred at 1:26 p.m. Jet fuel is leaking onto the road.

The bid rig, hauling fuel used for cropdusters, went off the road and into a tree.

Authorities have ruled it a hazardous materials spill and have crews working to contain it. In the meantime, the road is closed for a quarter-mile in each direction; the closure is estimated to last four to six hours.

More details will be provided as they become available.
