Community tour of new high school scheduled

El Capitan High School will host a community tour of the new school from 9 to 11 a.m. July 27. There will be a ribbon cutting at 8 a.m. Aug. 13 at the 53-acre campus facing G Street at Farmland Avenue in north Merced. All community members are encouraged to attend. Call (209) 230-5624.

Health festival will offer free services Aug. 3

ATWATER — Castle Family Health Centers will hold its Summer Family Health Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3 at 3605 Hospital Road. Admission is free. The event will offer free vision, dental, hearing, diabetes, and blood pressure checks as well as breast exams. There will be free lunch, a raffle and entertainment. Call (209) 381-2000, ext. 7210.

Sweet Potato Festival sponsor deadline near

LIVINGSTON — The second annual Sweet Potato Festival will be held Sept. 20-22 at the Max Foster Sports Complex. Sponsorships are $25 and the deadline is Aug. 9. For more information, go to www.livingstoncity.com or call (209) 394-8830.

Drive-through chicken dinner coming Sept. 29

LOS BANOS — Valley Christian Center in Los Banos will host a drive-through chicken dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at 241 W. Pacheco Blvd. Tickets are $8 and include a quarter of a chicken, rice, salad and dinner roll. Call (408) 991-4491.

Tacos, trivia, hamburger events every week

La Grange Rebekah lodge to serve breakfast

LA GRANGE — The La Grange Rebekahs will serve breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. July 21 at the Odd Fellows Hall on Main Street. Tickets are $5.
