Reading is Delicious

LIVINGSTON — The Livingston Branch Library will hold its summer reading program, Reading is Delicious, through Aug. 7, every Wednesday, at 4 p.m. at the library, 1212 Main St. Call (209) 394-7330 for more information.

Club has trips planned

The Big Valley Travel Club is offering many trips this year that are open to anyone who is interested. The group is taking reservations for the extended trips it has planned:

• "Oklahoma," the musical, July 27, 2 p.m. at Fallon House in Columbia, $75.

• A Day on the Bay, a three-hour cruise on the USS Potomac, FDR's floating White House, Aug. 15, $105 for transportation, parking, box lunch, cruise.

• Escape to Lake Tahoe, Aug. 19-22, $195 per person, double occupancy.

Parkinson's support

The Parkinson's Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at 1450 E. 27th St. The speaker will be Pam Strange. She will discuss vision impairment and solutions for people with Parkinson's disease. Call (209) 384-3300 for more information or to RSVP.

Club presents Sabor

Club Mercedes will present the band Sabor from Fresno on Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person, with food and beverages available for an extra charge. You must be 21 years old to attend. SPCA adoption event

The Merced SPCA will hold its monthly adoption event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Armstrong's Pet World, 1831 Bellevue Road. Cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. Cash only. Call (209) 384-7722 or (209) 723-8953.

Elks pancake breakfast

The Merced Elks will host their monthly pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on July 21 at 3600 Wardrobe Ave. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children. The meal includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, orange juice and coffee.

VFW rummage sale

DELHI — The Livingston-Delhi Ladies Auxiliary VFW No. 8327 will host a big rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 1-2 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 3 at 9799 Stephens St. Call (209) 394-2059 with any questions or donations.
